Chef Jacques Pépin is a world-renowned French chef, author, educator, and television personality whose illustrious career has spanned over 70 years. Known for his elegant technique, approachable teaching style, and enduring influence on both professional chefs and home cooks, Pépin has authored over 30 cookbooks and starred in numerous acclaimed cooking shows on PBS, many alongside his close friend Julia Child.
In 2016, he co-founded the Jacques Pépin Foundation (JPF) with his daughter, Claudine Pépin, and son-in-law, Rollie Wesen. The Foundation is dedicated to advancing Jacques’s lifelong passion for culinary education by supporting free culinary and life skills training for individuals with high barriers to employment, including those who have experienced incarceration, homelessness, or substance abuse. Through a growing network of community kitchens, teaching programs, and an extensive online video recipe library, the JPF helps provide the skills and confidence people need to build meaningful careers in the food industry.
With the motto “Good food, prepared and served with pride, feeds the soul,” the Jacques Pépin Foundation continues to make a lasting impact—nourishing lives and strengthening communities through the power of cooking.
