For more than two decades, Deborah Hanson carried a quiet dream. Real estate had long fascinated her—the architecture, the stories behind homes, and the deeply personal moment when someone finds the place they truly want to live. She bought the books, studied the industry, and imagined the day she might finally pursue it professionally.
Life, as it often does, moved quickly. Family responsibilities, business ventures, and everyday commitments kept that dream waiting in the wings. Then came 2020.
During the unexpected stillness of the pandemic, Hanson revisited the goal she had held for more than 20 years. With renewed focus, she immersed herself in coursework and earned her real estate license. What had once been a long-held aspiration quickly became a thriving second career built on relationships, local knowledge, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others find their place in Napa Valley.
Today Hanson works with Realty ONE Group Fox, guiding buyers and sellers across Napa County and neighboring communities including Sonoma, Fairfield, Dixon, and Vacaville. Her approach reflects a philosophy rooted in service and communication.
“Helping people achieve their real estate dreams is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do,” she says. “Every situation is unique, and with the right due diligence and open communication, I strive to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.”
That mindset resonates with clients. Many describe Hanson as both meticulous and deeply invested in the outcome of each transaction. One recent client summarized the experience this way: “Deborah was professional, consistent, and a go-getter in the sale of our home. She made herself available whenever we needed her and guided us through every step.”
Hanson’s life in Napa Valley extends far beyond real estate, giving her a genuine understanding of the lifestyle her clients seek. She and her husband operate a small vineyard producing Destiny Family Wines, along with Destiny Wine Tours and the Napa Valley Cocktail Company, a mobile bar service. These ventures keep her closely connected to the hospitality and wine communities that define the region.
That background also informs her perspective on property. Hanson brings an eye for design, staging, and potential, skills that help clients envision what a home can become. According to her website, she combines local expertise with insights from hospitality and design to create a smooth and rewarding experience for buyers and sellers alike.
Family remains the foundation of it all. Hanson and her husband have two married children and four grandchildren who bring constant joy and perspective. Those relationships shape the way she approaches her work: every home represents someone’s future gathering place, investment, and personal story.
For Hanson, becoming a realtor was never simply about selling houses. It was about building connections, guiding people through meaningful transitions, and sharing the lifestyle that makes Napa Valley such a special place to live. After twenty years of waiting for the right moment, the dream finally arrived, right on time.
